The Pennsylvania Academic Standards are the adopted standards that guide the curriculum, instruction, and assessment for different courses and subjects that are taught K - 12. The academic (and core) standards serve to inform what students should know and be able to do by the end of a grade level (or grade band) for each content area. In a standards-aligned-system, the state core and academic standards are the foundation upon which we build our curriculum, instruction, and assessment framework.
