General

The Bermudian Springs School District occupies 75 square miles of Adams County's rolling hills of beautiful orchards and farmlands. This rural setting includes the boroughs of East Berlin and York Springs, as well as the townships of Huntington, Latimore, Reading and part of Hamilton. The 2010 Department of Commerce census totals over 13,100 inhabitants.

Adams County is known as the "Apple Capital" of the United States and is the home of the brand names, "Lucky Leaf", "Mott’s" and "Musselman's." Many area businesses are related to the fruit industry, including box manufacturers, packing houses, nurseries, trucking firms, orchard material suppliers and equipment dealers. The Pennsylvania State University Fruit Research Laboratory is located in nearby Biglerville.

Significant points of interest in the area are the Gettysburg National Military Park and the Eisenhower National Historic Site. The nearby Appalachian Trail, Pennsylvania State Park lands, Ski Liberty Resort, Ski Roundtop, and several golf courses offer a wide range of recreational opportunities,

The Bermudian Springs School District is located within easy access to the Metropolitan and culture centers of Baltimore, MD; Harrisburg/Hershey, PA; and Washington, D.C. Nearby institutions of higher learning include: Gettysburg College, the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Dickinson College, the Army War College, the Mont Alto Campus of Penn State University, Harrisburg Campus of Penn State University, Harrisburg Area Community College and McDaniel College. 

Medical Facilities

The Gettysburg Hospital, a 102 bed general hospital, is a major hospital facility located in Adam County. Hospitals are also located in Carlisle, Hanover, York, Harrisburg, and Hershey Medical Center, a major research hospital located in Hershey. School District residents are also within access to other medical facilities in the Carlisle, Hanover, York and Harrisburg areas including the Adams/Cumberland Medical Center.

Transportation

Highway Facilities: Regional access to the Bermudian Springs School District is obtained via Pennsylvania State Routes 15, 94 and 234. Pennsylvania Route 234 provides an east-west through route, connecting with Route 15 and Route 30 and serving the area between York and Route 30. Pennsylvania Route 15 is the principal north-south route through the area, connecting Washington D.C. and Harrisburg. Pennsylvania Route 94, also a north-south route, is significant because of its connections with Interstate 81.

Bus Service: Bus service in the area is available from Greyhound.

Air Service: Air service is available at three airports within reasonable traveling distance. They are Harrisburg International, Baltimore-Washington International, and Dulles International and Ronald Reagan International in the Washington D.C. area. The Harrisburg International Airport provides regular scheduled passenger, airfreight and air express service.

Freight Service: Numerous trucking companies offer intrastate and interstate service. The port facilities of Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York are within reasonable distance from the area. There is overnight service by truck to these ports
